CESO Communications

The challenge

Blue Valley Schools in Kansas needed a visually appealing, easy-to-navigate way to communicate the strategic plan they created, so the district partnered with CESO Communications to deliver a beautiful and succinct branding package, an annual report and additional graphic design needs.

Our approach

CESO Communications held discovery conversations with the Blue Valley team to determine all required assets, then collaborated closely with the district throughout the design process to ensure the work matched the vision. 

CESO began with a branding package for the strategic plan, complete with logos, icons, colors, fonts and other graphic elements. The district had recently revamped its branding, so CESO built on the updated colors and fonts, creating a modern twist on their district logo that reflected both the agricultural history and bustling current communities present in Blue Valley. Using style elements from the main logo, the designers then worked closely with the Blue Valley team to develop icons to support the key components of the strategic plan. These supportive graphics also provided visual representation of those key ideas and eye-catching symbols intended to help the reader find, sort and connect complex information across the varying publications and platforms. Once the branding was clear, CESO developed a booklet, one-pager summary, slide deck and a wall-mounted poster. 

CESO continues to partner with Blue Valley, providing graphic design support to round out the strong work the district’s internal communications team provides. In addition to the strategic plan, CESO helped design Blue Valley’s annual report, an event handout and updates to school logos.

Our impact

From strategic plan handouts to the annual report, the designs CESO created for Blue Valley captivate viewers and tell the district’s story. CESO took the expert words and photos from the district communications team and presented them through clear infographics, beautiful layouts and strategic visual storytelling, all carefully aligned with the Blue Valley brand.
