CESO Communications

The challenge

Affton School District in Missouri called a bond election for April 2025. Proposition 1 would provide funding for essential safety, accessibility and educational improvements across the district. The Affton team had already developed a strategic election communications plan but needed someone to help execute it.

Our approach

CESO Communications began by reviewing the district’s research and communications plan and providing additional key messaging. CESO’s role was mainly tactical, and the strategists and graphic designers executed the district’s plan through website content creation and implementation, social media, newsletters, print pieces, graphics, a video that included an animation of Affton’s already-created bond logo, and a slide deck for public presentations. In the months leading up to the election, CESO and Affton partnered to deliver comprehensive messaging across multiple media channels to reach voters far and wide.

Our impact

Voters approved the April bond with 79% of the vote. Building on to the strong foundation of Affton’s initial work, CESO brought the messaging to life, ensuring voters understood Proposition 1 and could make informed decisions at the ballot. After the successful approval of this bond, Affton School District continues to partner with CESO Communications for ongoing communications support.
